Strenghtening Fertility Care Through Potential Collaboration In Pre-Implatation Genetic Testing.

Over the past few decades, reproductive medicine has undergone extraordinary transformation. Breakthroughs in genetics, embryology and IVF technology have opened new frontiers in how we understand, diagnose and prevent inherited conditions. Today, more families are able to conceive safely and achieve healthy pregnancies thanks to advances like Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A) and Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Monogenic Disorders (PGT-M). These screening tests are used during in vitro fertilization (IVF) to identify chromosomal abnormalities and single-gene conditions at the earliest possible stage; long before pregnancy begins.

We recognise that chromosomal errors are responsible for a significant percentage of failed implantations and early pregnancy losses. Yet despite these advancements, considerable challenges remain. Many couples still experience repeated IVF failure or unexplained miscarriages without access to the genetic insights that PGT-A and PGT-M provide

We recognise that no single clinic, lab or organisation can close these gaps alone. Partnerships between fertility centres, laboratories and international reproductive health communities are essential for breaking down barriers, expanding access and helping more families achieve healthy, successful pregnancies.1

An Inspiring Partnership to Accelerate Advancements in PGTA and PGTM Testing.

Recently, representatives from Ayomide Women’s Health Specialist Hospital and Womb Seed Fertility Centre visited TheGene Lab Bioscience to explore a proposed partnership, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing reproductive genetics, improving and supporting healthier pregnancies through accurate, timely and reliable genetic testing.

Afolabi Ifeoluwani (Admin Manager), Mrs Adebowale, RN (Matron-In-Charge), Mrs. Akinola Oreofe (Chief Embryologist), Nureni Omotayo (Divisional Lead Laboratories at TheGenelab Bioscience), Prof J.O. Komolafe (Medical Director), Mr Oyedele Olutayo (Embryologist).

While Ayomide Women’s Health Specialist Hospital and Womb Seed Fertility Centre provide comprehensive gynecological services, diagnostic laparoscopy, fertility treatments and hands-on clinical care, The GeneLab Bioscience contributes high-precision genetic testing capabilities, including (PGT-A) and (PGT-M).

By working together, we can continue to develop solutions that best meet the needs of individuals and families navigating fertility challenges, ultimately improving access to advanced genetic testing and strengthening reproductive health outcomes for the wider community
