Following our growing partnership with Esco Lifesciences and the establishment of TGL Equipments (our dedicated equipment division), The GeneLab Bioscience participated in Pharma West Africa 2026. Held from April 14th – 16th, 2026 at the Landmark Event Centre, it was a three-day exhibition that brought together healthcare professionals, researchers and global pharmaceutical suppliers from around the world.
The opening ceremony was attended by respected leaders such as Ahmed Yakasai (Former President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria) and Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye (Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC). The central theme focused on “THE FUTURE OF CONNECTED CARE AND CREATING INTELLIGENT HEALTH NETWORKS.”
Our presence at the exhibition went beyond laboratory equipment; we also showcased innovative products from Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT), our stand welcomed visitors who were genuinely interested in our work, as they also introduced their company and achievements. We engaged with participants from several Francophone countries, with the support of one of our colleagues who provided interpretation to facilitate smooth communication.
Using interactive screen displays, we demonstrated our ONT and TGL Equipment products, walking attendees through our system capabilities. We sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to visit our stand and speak with our team. The questions, feedback and level of interest made the experience worthwhile.
We were especially honored to receive visits from key industry figures, including Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai, who visited our stand twice and commended our organization and presentation. Moments like this matter as they reflect recognition from people who understand the industry in depth.

Eddy Kimany- (Esco LIfescience), Damilola Oyediran- (TGL), Esther Momoh- (TGL), Ganiu Idris- (TGL), Pharm. Ahmed I. Yakasai- (The chairman Conference of Pharma West Africa 2026), Oladipo Olive- (TGL), Haruna Abidogun- (TGL)
Exhibition of Oxford Nanopore Technologies Products
One of the engaging parts of our presence was sharing the capabilities of Oxford Nanopore Technologies. For some visitors, this was their first close look at how easy sequencing can be done in real time. We showcased how this pharmaceutical solutions are redefining sequencing across the drug development pipeline through:
– Real-time DNA & RNA sequencing for rapid insights. Scalable platforms, from portable devices to high-throughput systems supporting diverse research needs. Applications across target identification, biomarker discovery, genomic characterization and translational research
From discussions at the stand, it was clear that there is growing interest in having these products available locally and globally. The ability to generate and work with genomic data without delays opens up new possibilities for research and diagnostics across the region.
Presenting Esco Lifesciences Equipments
We also showcased a range of laboratory equipment through TGL Equipments:
- Laboratory freezers and refrigerators
- Biosafety cabinets
- Aseptic and containment systems
- Cleanroom-related solutions and more…

We explained how each of these systems integrates into daily operations, whether in pharmaceutical production, diagnostics or research settings. We were also joined by Eddy Kimany from Esco LIfescience, whose expertise allowed us to delve deeper into technical discussions and provide more comprehensive guidance to interested attendees.
Participating in Pharma West Africa 2026 was a valuable experience for us; it was more than just an exhibition, it was a reminder of the direction the industry is heading globally.
