Ganiu is an early-career researcher with experience in virology and immunology. He previously worked at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), where he contributed to research on infectious diseases and immunological studies. He was an active member of NIMR’s COVID-19 Response Team and contributed to several research projects, including the Nature-published paper titled “Safety and immunogenicity of fractional COVID-19 vaccine doses in Nigerian adults: A randomized non-inferiority trial.”
He also coordinated the Polio Surveillance Study at the Centre for Human Virology and Genetics, NIMR.
His research skills include mammalian cell culture, virus isolation, PBMC isolation and cryopreservation, ELISA assays, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, and data analysis.
Ganiu holds a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) from Lagos State University and a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Yaba College of Technology. He is an Associate Member (ASLTON) of the Nigeria Institute of Science Laboratory Technology.
