On March 18, 2025, The GeneLab Bioscience was honored to host the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) at our facility. The purpose of this visit was to conduct a pre-audit assessment in preparation for the accreditation of our laboratory.

The audit was led by Mr. Bukar Simon, along with two other assessors: Mr. Titu Njing, the MLSCN secretary, and Mr. Kwata Julius. In his opening remarks, the lead assessor, Mr. Bukar, emphasized the importance of this exercise as the pre-approval process that would ultimately lead to the final accreditation of GeneLab Bioscience by the MLSCN. He encouraged all participants to cooperate and work together as a team throughout the evaluation.

The assessment team was given a comprehensive tour of the facility, led by Dr. James Ayorinde (CEO), Mrs. Awolola Adeola (Laboratory Director), and Mr. Omotayo Nureni (Head of Laboratory Divisions). They closely examined the facility’s structure, laboratory equipment, quality management system, standard operating procedures, safety precautions, and overall process management.

The lead assessor commended the GeneLab Bioscience management for their significant investment and well-planned facility. He expressed his satisfaction with the level of preparedness and the performance of the audit exercise.

The audit was a resounding success, as it allowed us to understand the expectations and prepare for the upcoming accreditation. We are grateful to the MLSCN for granting our organization this valuable pre-audit visit.
